About the number and Mandarin audio

What your driver is asking for

Your driver might say 尾号 (wěi hào) or 后四位 (hòu sì wèi). Both mean these last four digits.

Use the number on this booking. If you booked through Alipay, it may differ from the one in your DiDi app. Never give the driver an SMS verification code.

Why “one” sounds different

Phone numbers are read one digit at a time. In spoken Mandarin, 1 is often said as 幺 (yāo), rather than 一 (yī). This card uses that phone-number reading.

The audio is a recorded synthetic Mandarin voice, so it does not depend on your phone having a Chinese text-to-speech voice. After offline setup finishes, the page and audio can work without a connection in this browser. A saved image or screenshot is the simplest backup; you can also add this page to your home screen.
