Policy details and official sources

Future travel dates

The unilateral 30-day policy for 48 nationalities currently runs to 31 December 2026. A later arrival is shown as pending confirmation until an extension is announced. Russia’s published end date is 31 December 2027; Brunei has no announced end date.

How the time limit works

For unilateral 30-day entry and 240-hour transit, counting starts at midnight after entry, in China time (UTC+08:00). Enter on 3 November 2026: the transit calculation ends at 23:59 on 13 November, and the 30-day calculation at 23:59 on 3 December. Follow the actual permission given at the border.

Mutual agreements have different stay lengths and cumulative limits. This tool identifies the agreement and its published allowance, but asks you to confirm the exact deadline under that agreement.

Transit stay areas

The province selector follows the NIA’s 24 permitted provincial areas. Eighteen are covered in full. In Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Sichuan and Yunnan, choose a listed city or area. Guilin includes Yangshuo; Chengdu includes Dujiangyan; Yuxi includes Fuxian Lake. The checker does not trace a road or rail route between your selections.

Read the visa and entry guide for documents and examples. For help with the itinerary, send me your draft route. This is a planning check, not an admission decision.
